Steph Asks:

Hi, I straighten my hair every day and it’s getting really dry and thin and when I wash my hair, it falls out a lot. I have to straighten my hair as I have got bushy hair and I don’t like it. What can I do?

Lisa’s Answer:

Try to straighten your hair only twice a week instead of every day! Get your stylist to show you how to blowdry your hair properly without using straightening irons to minimise the damage caused. Use a moisturising shampoo and conditioner to compensate for moisture loss due to using heat appliances. If you can, book into your salon once a week for a ritual and have your hair blowdryed properly by a professional.

Emil Asks:

I am definitely going through the menopause, I am 52 and having bad hot flushes which I am controlling with sage tincture (marvellous stuff), but my HAIR! It is just so limp and has thinned so much. I didn’t have loads to begin with. Do you have any suggestions for me please?

Lisa’s Answer:

Try not to worry as stress can cause further hair loss. What you are experiencing is totally normal when going through the menopause. Kerastase do a fantastic shampoo called Bain Prevention specifically designed to help reduce hair loss whilst still caring for your hair, leaving it soft, supple and shiny.

Anna Asks:

I’ve coloured my hair so often it’s really dry, is there a type of dye or conditioner I should be using that would help?

Lisa’s Answer:

Semi permanent colour is great for conditioning hair and it just adds pure shine and nourishment. Revive shampoo and Repair conditioner by Clynol is great for damaged, brittle and chemically treated hair. It gently restructures the hair from within by repairing damaged areas of the hair and leaves your hair strong and shiny!
